A Downside to Ministry

I am coming to the realization that one of the greatest downsides of ministry is that my day off is Friday. This means that the one day a week I have time to relax, catch up with friends, and disconnect from the office is a day most people still must work. It makes for quiet Friday mornings sitting at Tuscany’s Coffee Shop writing blog postings…

Maybe that is a long way to say I miss my Colorado buds!

Coming from someone who works on Fridays (and desperately misses working on Sundays) - I'm confused by your characterization as "downside." ;-)

Quiet, alone, book, coffee - I'd almost characterize that as "glory." But, I do wish we could have that cup of coffee together.

1. Congratulations! I'm so glad you found a coffee shop. Last I heard they were non-existent in Sweetwater.

2. For the extrovert, a quiet morning isn't how we get charged up necessarily.

3. Ellie's right...we miss you too.

Perhaps I should clarify. Sweetwater still does not have a coffee shop - I drive a good 40 minutes to Abilene to enjoy the nectar of Christ: a hazelnut latte. I can feel my soul being sanctified as I drink it - not quite the blood shed on the cross, but I am convinced it runs a distant second.
